SuperSport PL line-up: City under pressure as Arsenal, United clash

The Premier League enters the weekend at a critical juncture, with both ends of the table beginning to shift. Arsenal retain a seven-point lead, but a winless run among the top four has tightened the race beneath them. All matches will be broadcast live on SuperSport on DStv and GOtv.

Saturday’s action begins at 4:00 pm as Man City host Wolves. City sit second but arrive under pressure after successive defeats and a four-game winless run in the league. Defensive injuries have exposed vulnerabilities, while Wolves, bottom of the table but unbeaten in four, travel with renewed confidence and little to lose.

At the same time, Burnley face Spurs, with the match airing live on SS Action (GOtv Ch. 66, DStv Ch. 206) due to the clash with City’s fixture. The Spurs’ strong European form has not yet translated into consistent domestic reliability.  They remain winless in four league games. Burnley, despite sitting 19th, have taken points off Liverpool and Man United in recent weeks and will again look to frustrate.

The late fixture on Saturday sees Bournemouth host Liverpool at 6:30 pm. Liverpool remain fourth despite a run of league draws, but a dominant midweek win in Marseille suggested a return to attacking fluency. Bournemouth, struggling since the departure of Antoine Semenyo, face a Liverpool side eager to turn momentum into points.

Sunday begins with Crystal Palace hosting Chelsea at 3:00 pm. Palace are winless in eight and dealing with uncertainty around Oliver Glasner’s future. At the same time, Chelsea have responded positively under Liam Rosenior, climbing to 6th after consecutive wins in the league and Europe.

Also at 3:00 pm, Newcastle host Aston Villa in a key contest in the race for the top four. Newcastle’s home form remains strong, while Villa arrive after a demanding midweek trip and a league defeat that has raised questions about fatigue. All Premier League matches are broadcast live on SS Premier League (DStv Ch. 203, GOtv Ch. 65).

The weekend concludes at 5:30 pm with the headline fixture as Arsenal welcome Man United. Arsenal remain clear at the summit despite back-to-back draws, while United arrive revitalised under Michael Carrick following a statement derby win over City.
