The League Bloggers Awards (LBA), Nigeria's foremost independent football awards platform, is pleased to announce a landmark partnership with The Cordis Hotel, Ikeja, for the 2026 edition of the awards, dedicated to celebrating excellence among players, coaches, and administrators in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Established in 2009, the League Bloggers Awards was conceived as an indigenous initiative to recognize and celebrate outstanding performers in the NPFL while promoting personal branding and professional development among football stakeholders.

The collaboration with The Cordis Hotel marks an exciting new chapter for the awards as preparations begin for what is expected to be the most prestigious edition in the event's history.

Located in the heart of Ikeja, The Cordis Hotel combines contemporary elegance with exceptional Nigerian hospitality, offering a premium experience for guests and event attendees alike.

Speaking on the partnership, LBA Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ojeikere Aikhoje, expressed enthusiasm about the development.

"Recognising and celebrating NPFL stars has remained our tradition since the League Bloggers Awards was conceived in 2009. As a key player in Nigeria's hospitality industry, The Cordis Hotel shares our commitment to contributing to national development through impactful partnerships," Aikhoje said.

"We are proud to collaborate with The Cordis Hotel, providing football stars and stakeholders with the opportunity to experience their unmatched comfort, premium service, and world-class hospitality," he added.

Since its inception, the League Bloggers Awards has grown into one of the most respected platforms for recognising excellence in Nigerian football, rewarding players, coaches, and administrators whose contributions continue to elevate the domestic game.

The partnership with The Cordis Hotel further reinforces the organisers' commitment to delivering a world-class awards experience that reflects the growth and professionalism of the NPFL.

Additional details regarding nominations, award categories, event programming, and timelines for the 2026 edition will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Player of the Season award remains the most coveted honour of the ceremony.

Former Kano Pillars midfielder, Reuben Gabriel, made history as the inaugural recipient of the award in 2012, setting the benchmark for future winners.
