In a bid to build capacity, standardize officiating, and improve coaching delivery across the country, the Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) is set to organize a National Coaching and Refereeing Seminar/Retreat.

This was contained in an invitation signed by the Secretary-General of the NJF, Mrs. Ngozi Amayo, and sent to all state associations as well as coaches and referees’ bodies nationwide.

According to the invitation, the 5-day seminar will run from September 2 to 6, 2026.

Speaking on the initiative, President of the Federation, Dr. Musa Oshodi, said the NJF remains committed to training and equipping coaches and referees to meet international standards.

“As a Federation, we are committed to training and equipping our coaches and referees to meet the required standard. This is critical if we are to achieve the targets we have set for the development of judo in Nigeria,” Dr. Oshodi stated.

He added that the seminar is part of the Federation’s broader strategy to reposition judo for better performance at national and international competitions.
