Gusau gets CAF Africa Nations League Advisory Committee appointment

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has received a significant continental recognition following his appointment by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to the Africa Nations League Advisory Committee.

In its official letter dated 11 August 2026, CAF announced the composition of the Advisory Committee, established to help advance the Africa Nations League Continental and Africa Nations League Pan-African projects and subsequently advise the CAF Executive Committee on important considerations and decisions.

Significantly, Gusau was listed among the eight members drawn from the CAF Executive Committee, placing him alongside some of the continent's most prominent football administrators.

His appointment should not be viewed as merely a ceremonial inclusion. It is a recognition of his outstanding track record, administrative experience and growing contribution to the development and governance of football in Africa. CAF's decision to entrust him with a role in an important continental project demonstrates the confidence the continent's football governing body has placed in his leadership and capacity.
