The Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has upholds various fines slammed on Kano Pillars and Katsina United by the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) over the conducts of their supporter, reports Sports Unlimited
Arising from its meeting Wednesday, the committee found that, Kano Pillars failed to provide adequate and effective security which resulted into unauthorised persons gaining access into restricted areas in their home game against Shooting Stars Sports Cub as well as other infringements committed by the host supporters, stressing that the supporters exhibited conducts capable of bringing the game to disrepute.
It thus upholds the N3 million fine against Kano Pillars as well as the sum of N1.5 million just as it ss compensatory damages to match officials in line with Article C.12 of the NPFL Framework and Rules.Similarly, the committee upholds the deduction of 3 points and 3 goals from the accrued points of Kano Pillars FC for assaults on match officials and reduces the closing of the Sani Abacha Stadium indefinitely to five match ban to run concurrently from the date of the sanction.
On the appeal submitted by Katsina United on the decision of the NPFL in their match against Barau FC, the committee slammed Katsina United for failure to provide adequate security and to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters which resulted into harassment of the away team players and officials.
The committee thus partially adopted the N3 million on all charges against Katsina United while reducing the banishment to the Jos City Stadium to five-match ban.
