FIBA World Cup Qualifier: D’Tigress wallop Colombia 70-37 in Lyon

Reigning African Champions, Nigeria’s D’Tigress opened their campaign at the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament against Colombia on a brilliant note in Lyon France.

The business minded Nigerian ladies defeated thier Colombia counterparts 70-37 at full time. D’Tigress dominated proceedings from start to finish losing only a quarter in the four-quarter encounter.

The Nigerian ladies won the first quarter 18-12, lost the second 16-17 before clinching the third and fourth quarters 19-5 and 17-3 respectively.

The is the first time both countries will be meeting in the history of Women basketball and the victory sends a message of supremacy of the coach Rena Wakama tutored side over Colombia.

Colombia has been showing impressive signs in recent years in women’s basketball in the South American region and jumped 11 spots in the latest FIBA rankings to reach 19th place.
