There are moves within the Electoral Committee and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to insert some clauses on the September 26th, electoral guidelines, which is intended to deprived some football stakeholders eligibility of contesting at the forthcoming NFF Election www.sportsunlimited.ng has gathered.
A very reliable source, who's an FA chairman, from one of the North- Central states, who pleaded anonymity, told www.sportsunlimited.ng that members of the NFF Electoral Committee are at crossroad on the release the election guidelines.
According to him, there are mounting pressure from the NFF leadership on the Electoral Committee to insert some clauses in the guidelines that will disqualify some aspirant from contesting.
According to him "They want to stop some persons whom they presumed will be a threat to their candidacy and this is one of the reasons for all the delay in releasing the election timetable and guidelines," our source said
We also gathered that the Electoral Committee has not held any physical meetings since it's inauguration in April. More worrisome to many stakeholders is that the Electoral Committee has not been able to open sales of nomination form, election timetable and guidelines, signalling that the NFF election slated for September 26 might be shifted.
