PCN President, Odebode congratulates Team Nigeria Para Powerlifters on Glasgow 2026 success

The President of the Paralympics Committee of Nigeria (PCN), Mr. Sunday Odebode, has congratulated Team Nigeria's para powerlifters for their outstanding performance at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Nigeria's para powerlifting team has so far won three gold medals and three silver medals, a remarkable achievement that has lifted Team Nigeria to second place on the medals table.

The gold medallists are Esther Nworgu, Folashade Oluwafemiayo, and Riluwan Idris, while the silver medallists are Esther Oyema, Roland Ezuruike, and Rita Ferdinand. Their performances have once again demonstrated Nigeria's dominance in para powerlifting on the international stage.

Odebode praised the athletes for their determination, resilience, and patriotism, noting that they have made the country proud with their exceptional performances. He also commended the coaches, officials, and the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, for creating an enabling environment for the athletes to excel.

He expressed confidence that Team Nigeria would continue to add to its medal haul as the Commonwealth Games progress and urged the athletes to remain focused on achieving even greater success for the country.
