Enyimba heads to NFF Appeal Committee after points deduction
The management of Enyimba of Aba has described unfair the decision of Disciplinary Committee of NFF to deduct two points from the People's Elephant, two months after the 1-0 win over Doma United, Sportsunlimited.ng reports.
The club said in a statement that it was a miscarriage of justice on the part of O&D and as such was going to the NFF Appeals Committee for redress.
The management claimed that Doma United players and officials were the ones who harassed the assistant referee on the match day as could be viewed on the video evidence provided by the Aba club and that of the Broadcast Right Owners, StarTimes, who covered the game live.
Enyimba also believes it was unfair for its points to be deducted since the NPFL Summary Jurisdiction sanctions on them in the aftermath of the match did not recommend such aside the N7m fine and the three match behind closed doors.
"It's unfair. It's the height of injustice. Coming two months after the match and after and outside NPFL Summary Jurisdiction sanction is quite unacceptable," laments an Enyimba official.
"We want justice and we've taken the matter to the Appeals Committee of NFF. We don't know if there's anyone who is against Enyimba winning the league this season.
"We want our two points back, that's all we want and that's what we want the Appeals Committee to look into the merit of our demand and ensure justice is served."
