Former Tottenham coach unveils ambitious plans for Nigerian football.

Nigerian born England-based coach, Demi Emmanuel Olutoge has affirmed that he has a robust and audacious master plan that can change the negative narratives about Nigerian football, even as he declared his intention to take up coaching in the Nigerian league in order to accomplish the task.

According to the former forward who played for Saffron Walden and in the Essex Senior senior league, "Nigeria has a lot of talents, but a lot need to be done to develop those talents to become world class stars.

"Our league needs to be restructured to make it more attractive with improved wages, television right and good welfare packages. I weep each time I see the passionate way Nigerians support foreign clubs at the expense of the Nigerian league. Every foreign club jerseys, caps, mufflers and tickets bought by Nigerians goes into the revenue stream of the foreign clubs.

"If these resources are properly channeled to the Nigerian league, it will become more competitive and make it a beacon of hope in Africa and globally".

He further asserted "If we truly and intentionally develop our league, Nigerian clubs can become African champions and go on to win the World Club Cup. This would create better and endless opportunities for Nigerian football. Also the National teams can become dominant forces in Africa and the world"

The former Tottenham Youth team coach insists that "I have the template that can nurture local clubs, build the National teams from the U-17 team to the Flying Eagles, the U-23 to the Super Eagles. If things are properly structured, Nigeria can rule world football in the next 15 years.

"This however requires a lot of efforts, planning and deliberate actions to make the system effective. If the system abroad is working, Nigeria has no excuse not to make it work. We need a change of attitude and mindset to make the difference."

Olutoge has diverse experiences coaching at Tottenham, Manchester City and got his MSc from UCFB ETIHAD, Manchester City.
