SWAN to unveil Nigeria Sports Year Book, holds one-day seminar

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, the umbrella body for all sports writers in Nigeria has taken a giant step in the documentation of Nigerian sporting landmarks with the publication of a sports compendium which is to be presented in Lagos on March 3rd, 2026.

According to the Chairman of the book Launch committee Aaron Akerejola, the sports media as the custodian of information decided to collaborate with a publishing agency to publish a yearly sports book which celebrates the exploits of Nigerian Sports men and women, teams and performance in major sports events. This is not only to celebrate sporting excellence, but to inform, document every achievements on a yearly basis. This will be a great reference point for sports historians and a rallying point for all sports enthusiasts.

He disclosed that the book presentation scheduled to take place at the Radisson Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos on March 3rd 2026 will also feature a seminar on how athletes can manage post retirement and remain relevant in retirement.

The book is a collaborative effort between SWAN and publishing Agency O & I Contact Ltd.
