The Technical Adviser of Doma FC of Gombe, Akinade Onigbinde has praised his wards for coming out with a draw against Kada Warriors at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna in the week 5 of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

The coach said his game plan worked as he was determined not to lose in Kaduna.

According to him,"It was a good game. We came here to pick a draw or win but at the end we drew.
"We created lot of scoring chances but lost them, especially in the first half. Our top striker was very unlucky. If he had converted his chances we would have scored in the first half," he said.

Can Doma gain promotion back to the top flight? Onigbinde sounded optimistic, saying they are working hard to pick the slot for playoff, "there is still hope."

Reflecting on why the team slipped down to NNL after a good show in the first round of the NPFL last season, the coach blamed injuries and departure of some players at the mid-season break for their relegation.
"We started well last season, but some of our key players had injuries while some left to other clubs within Nigeria and outside after first round.
"The boys we have now are new boys, 99 percent of the present boys are new boys, so we are building a new team and they are responding well. We will ensure we get promotion and keep them together for next season," he assured.

On why he came back to Doma after leaving at the end of last season, coach Onigbinde said it was due to the respect he has for the club chairman, Alhaji Sulieman Umar made him come back.
"I got offers from NNL clubs and NPFL clubs but because Alhaji Sulieman Umar has been nice to me and he is a good man, I decided to come back to start afresh and here we are."
