Green Atlas Football Club of Kaduna, an NLO side have sealed a partnership agreement with FK Dembava FC, a Lithuania league side, in a deal aimed at exposing Nigerian talent players to the European market and beyond through structured exchange programmes.

The agreement, unveiled in Abuja, will see FK Dembava scout, develop, and provide professional pathways for Green Atlas players in Europe while also facilitating technical exchange, coaching development and scouting programmes between both clubs.

Chairman of Green Atlas FC, Dr Tayo Moses Adebisi, described the deal as a turning point for Nigeria football clubs

“This is the beginning of self-sufficiency for the team,” he said. “The talent in Green Atlas Football Club is world class. The players in our team have the potentials of becoming some of the best in the world. This partnership gives them the platform to prove it on the global stage.”

He added that the collaboration aligns with the club’s long-term model of developing players for export to finance the team to bigger stage in the nigeria league system rather than relying solely on local sponsorship.

President of FK Dembava, Mr Dambrauskas Saulius, said he arrived Nigeria with doubts based on past experiences but left impressed by Green Atlas’ professionalism.

“My previous experience in Nigeria were bitter ones because of lack of sincerity,” Mr Saulius stated.

“But the board and management of Green Atlas Football Club have proven otherwise. The owner Dr Tayo Moses Adebisi, management, consultant and coaches are wonderful people.”

The Lithuanian club president revealed he initially planned to sign only two players but ended up scouting and signing 12 players from the Kaduna-based Football club\academy.

“These players will very soon rock the waves in the world of football. Nigeria has got so many talent,” he said.

Former Nigeria league player and deal intermediary, Mr Bature Joseph Kanwai, said the partnership succeeded because both sides delivered on their promises.

“Mr Dambrauskas Saulius was impressed with what he saw in terms of quality,” Kanwai noted. “And Green Atlas Football Club management also played their role by not disappointing based on agreement.”

As part of the unveiling, Green Atlas presented 12 players to FK Dembava, including goalkeeper Cosmos Akperashi. The players are expected to join the Lithuanian league side

The partnership marks one of the growing direct links between Nigerian grassroots clubs and European teams, bypassing traditional agents and focusing on club-to-club development agreements.
