NSC, NFF Congress meeting continues today
The meeting between the leadership of the National Sports Commission and the Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will continue today in Abuja.
It was gathered that at yesterday's meeting were sixteen members of the Congress and the leadership of the NSC led by the chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko and the DG Bukola Olopade.
The bone of contention raised by members of the Congress was the fiat dissolution of the Congress by the Acting General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme. Members demanded an apology from him before anything could be discussed.
However, the chairman of the NSC, Dikko stepped in and pleaded with members to forgive the GS as he had already apologised on his behalf, urging them to understand the circumstances that surrounded Ikpeme's action.
In today's meeting which would discuss the modalities for the expected normalisation committee will still not be conclusive as members of the congress are expected to return to their enlarged body for consultations and come up with their position before a final resolution.
Meanwhile, we further gathered that all issues concerning the normalisation committee must be sorted out on or before Monday, September 7, being the deadline issued to the delegation to Zurich by FIFA.
