The Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has commended the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, for the visible growth and renewed momentum of volleyball in Nigeria.

Sanusi made the remarks on Friday in Abuja, shortly after Life Camp Volleyball Club edged Ajase Ipo VC 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11) in a thrilling encounter at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

Speaking on the development of volleyball in the country, Sanusi noted that Nimrod’s presence at the arena was not surprising to those familiar with his sporting background.

According to him, the sport has continued to attract admiration and respect under Nimrod’s leadership, driven by purposeful administration and a genuine passion for the game.

He praised Nimrod’s deep-rooted connection to volleyball, describing it as a major strength that has translated into effective leadership and steady progress for the federation.

Sanusi further acknowledged that Nimrod’s engineering background has had a positive impact on volleyball administration in Nigeria, introducing structure, strategic planning and innovation that have accelerated the sport’s development nationwide.

He recalled that Nimrod’s involvement in volleyball dates back to his postgraduate days at the University of Ibadan, where he played the sport actively. Beyond playing, Nimrod also taught volleyball at both Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree levels, giving him a solid technical and academic foundation.
