Meet Tenebe: The Edo APC chairman, Bendel Insurance, Edo Queens boss who thrives under pressure
For many people, juggling politics, sports administration, business, and academics at the same time would seem nearly impossible. But for Jarret Tenebe, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and Chairman of both Bendel Insurance Football Club and Edo Queens Football Club, living under pressure is not a burden—it is a way of life.
Despite his demanding schedule and numerous responsibilities, Tenebe is still actively pursuing his education, a decision that has surprised many and earned him admiration from political associates, football stakeholders, and young professionals across Edo State and beyond.
Speaking recently with FAKS MEDIA, the Edo-born politician gave an insight into what drives him and why he continues to embrace a highly demanding lifestyle.
According to Tenebe, his body and mind have become naturally wired to function under pressure. Rather than seeking a quiet or stress-free life, he believes staying constantly engaged keeps him sharp, healthy, and productive.
“My body system is not used to being quiet,” he said. “I function better when I am working, thinking, moving, and handling responsibilities. Stress, for me, is not necessarily a bad thing—it keeps me alive and active.”
He explained that over the years, his body has adapted to a fast-paced lifestyle filled with meetings, decision-making, travel, and constant engagements in both politics and sports administration.
In his view, completely withdrawing from stress or reducing his workload drastically could have negative consequences.
“If you suddenly deprive my body of stress, something bad could happen,” he said with conviction. “This is the system my body understands. It has become part of who I am.”
Tenebe’s commitment to education, despite his busy public life, also reflects his strong belief in lifelong learning. He maintains that leadership requires constant growth, fresh ideas, and intellectual development.
For him, going back to school is not about earning certificates alone but about improving his knowledge and strengthening his ability to serve effectively.
As chairman of Bendel Insurance, one of Nigeria’s historic football clubs, and Edo Queens, one of the country’s leading women’s football teams, Tenebe has continued to play a key role in the development of football in Edo State.
Under his leadership, Edo Queens have achieved remarkable success, including major domestic triumphs that have further elevated the club’s reputation in Nigerian women’s football.
His influence extends beyond sports. As APC Chairman in Edo State, Tenebe remains a major political figure whose leadership continues to shape conversations and strategic direction within the party.
Associates describe him as energetic, disciplined, and relentlessly committed to excellence. Many say his ability to combine politics, football administration, education, and personal development sets him apart as a unique leader.
To many young Nigerians, Jarret Tenebe’s story serves as a powerful reminder that success is not about avoiding challenges but about developing the capacity to thrive in them.
For Tenebe, pressure is not something to fear—it is fuel for progress.
His journey continues to inspire many, proving that with determination, discipline, and passion, one can excel in multiple fields while still making time for personal growth and learning.
