Premier League: Manchester Derby tops Weekend Broadcast on DStv, GOtv

Manchester United and Man City meet in the first Manchester derby of the season on Sunday at 4:30 pm, in what is the weekend’s biggest fixture. Both sides will be looking to make an early statement and strengthen their title credentials. 

 United drew 2-2 with Everton last weekend, but sparkled in a 4-0 Champions League win over Sabah, while Man City beat Coventry 1-0 before a 2-0 Champions League victory over Porto. The derby, alongside all Premier League matches, will air live on SS Premier League (DStv Ch. 203, GOtv Ch. 65).

Liverpool begin the weekend at home to Fulham on Saturday at 3:00 pm, looking to build on their 2-0 win over Ipswich and midweek 2-1 Champions League victory over Atlético Madrid. Fulham will be looking to respond after losing 3-2 to Crystal Palace.

Chelsea host a recently promoted Hull City at 3:00 pm, with the game also available on SS Football Plus HD (DStv Ch. 202). Chelsea won their Carabao Cup game against Leeds in a nine-goal thriller and will look to bounce back from their 1-2 loss to Arsenal, while Hull go into the game after a goalless draw with Aston Villa, having beaten United on the opening day.

Tottenham welcome Everton at 5:30 pm, with Spurs coming off a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest. They are yet to score in the Premier League after two defeats and a draw. Everton also drew 2-2 with Man United in their last league outing.

Arsenal travel to Sunderland at 8:00 pm, with the defending champions arriving after a 2-1 win over Chelsea and a 1-0 Champions League victory away to Napoli. Sunderland drew 1-1 with Brentford last weekend.

Sunday’s action begins with Coventry hosting Brighton at 2:00 pm before the Manchester derby at Old Trafford. The round concludes on Monday when Leeds host Newcastle at 8:00 pm, with Leeds coming off a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Newcastle held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth.
