Arokodare shortlisted for Goal of the Month, fires blank in Ajax big win

Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare has been shortlisted for Ajax's Goal of the Month award for August, recognition for a well taken strike during the club's Europa Conference League fixture against Sion.

However, the lanky striker failed to either score nor record assist as the Amsterdam giants romped to a 5-1 away win against Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch League yesterday.

Julian Brandt put Ajax ahead in the 34th minute, Thilo Kehrer increased the tally in the 61st minute, Davy Klaassen made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute before Kasper Dolberg scored sealed a comfortable win with the fourth goal in the 78th minute.

Kasper Dolberg scored Ajax's fifth goal late into the game.
