FIFA, CAF visit: ANFPU scribe says now's time to unify players unions The two factional players' unions have been urged to use the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's football reform opportunity to unite and forge a common ground.The General Secretary of the All Nigerian Football Players Union (ANFPU), Olisa Onuchukwu said after consultation with other members, it was concluded that there's no better time to close ranks with sister body, Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN) than now.Onuchukwu said that former Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu was in the process of unifying the two bodies but lamented that the crisis that engulfed the state between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki put a stop to his effort."Now that President Tinubu through the National Sports Commission (NSC) has started the process of reforming Nigeria's football, I think it's an opportunity for the two players unions to come together for form a common front," the ANFPU scribe pleaded.He continued; "I've engaged in comprehensive consultations with ANFPU bigwigs like BOT Chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi(General), President Abdul Sule, Vice Presidents Joseph Yobo, High Chief Sam John Obuh, Julius Aghahowa, Patrick Pascal, Monday Kanu, power house Larry Kubeinje, Emma Anya, Willy Anunukem and several others and the consensus is that we need to join hands for the NSC reform to be successful".
