Boniface gets modest rating against West Ham
Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface is steadily coming back to his form after months of injury layoff, reports www.sportsunlimited.ng.
Despite coming in a second half substitute in Bayern Leverkusen's 2-0 victory over West Ham in the Europa League quarter-final, Boniface not only scored the second but most assuring goal for the German champion-in-waiting, he was modestly rated in the short time he featured.
Bayer Leverkusen extended its unbeaten streak to 42 games across all competitions after goals from Jonas Hofmann and Victor Boniface put Xabi Alonso’s side in a comfortable 2-0 lead against West Ham heading into the Europa League second-leg next week.
Former Arsenal man, Granite Xhaka was Leverkusen's best performer on the night with 94% pass accuracy (136/144).
Xhaka recorded two key passes, won four of his five ground duels and had 157 touches of the ball.
Xhaka, alongside Jonathan Tah, Exequiel Palacios, Jonas Hofmann and Florian Wirtz were the best on Leverkusen's side on 8/10 ratings followed by Boniface, Matej Kovar, Josip Stanisic, Alex Grimaldo, Amine Adli and Patrick Schick with rating of 7/10
The other Nigerian on the Leverkusen's side, Nathan Tella and Piero Hincapie were rated just above average at 6/10.
