BETECOSA honours Benin Technical College's Principal Cup champions

The historic victory of Benin Technical College in the Principal Cup Finals became an unforgettable celebration at the school compound in Ugbowo, Benin, as the old students' association, BETECOSA, gathered to honour the young lads for their remarkable achievement.

The event, made possible through the magnanimity of Sir Ralph Karieren (Chairman, Lagos Chapter), Dr Steve Ayiyi (Class of '84), Mr Ik Osunbor (Worldwide President), and Engr Emma Monye (Chairman, Benin Chapter), was graced by these distinguished old students, who beamed with pride as they presented cash gifts to the victorious footballers. 

The Chairman of the Board of Technical Education was also duly represented at the ceremony, adding further institutional weight to the occasion.

The atmosphere was electric with joy as the Games Master, who also doubles as the team's coach, Mr. Sharon Akhigbe Ekhiwere, recounted the team's journey to glory, praising their discipline and resilience. While the school principal, Mr Friday Izedonmwen, delivered a stirring speech commending the unity between past and present students. 

As the old students mingled with the young champions, sharing stories of their own school days and offering words of encouragement, the Ugbowo compound resonated with a timeless spirit and the BTC chants, etching that day as a golden memory in the annals of the school's history. 

Monday Kanu, the MC of the day, a former Games Prefect, ex-Bendel Insurance FC player, and a 1988 Howard University NCAA Championship Team member, guided and mentored the young lads, inspiring them to dream beyond the pitch.
