Edo State will once again witness an economic boom as the state is set to host the 10th edition of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) National Sports Festival, (NSF), scheduled to begin from Monday September 14 to Friday 18, 2026, in Benin City.
Head of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Edna Edughele, stated this when her team visited the Executive Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Enabulele to seek his approval and supports.
She maintained that over one thousand five hundred, (1,500.00) athletes in track and field events, including football, Badminton,Tennis, Table Tennis, Ayo, Chess and Ludo are expected to participate in this year's edition of the NIPOST sports fiesta across the country.
According to her, "This year's edition will supercedes all other editions because Edo State, the Nigeria Home of Sports is involve."
"Our visit to the Honourable Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission is to officially notify him that we have chosen Edo State as chief host of this year's edition of NIPOST National Sports Festival."
"Sir, the major aim and objectives of this festival is to foster unity among staff, encourage healthy living, promote teamwork and create good working environment for friendly competition among Nigerian Postal Service personnel across the land.
"The competition will also serve as an avenue for talents discovery and actualization of dreams in the industry. The competition is open to all sports men and women in the country."
Responding, the Executive Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission boss, Hon. Enabulele, commended the LOC assuring them of first class support.
He averred that Edo State is ever ready to welcome progressive ideas that will help to promote sports in the state at all levels
