Besiktas President meets with Lookman agent
The president of Turkish giants, Besiktas has taken a bold step to address the failing of the team in certain areas in the January transfer window.
Currently 5th in the Turkish League after 17 round of games, they are also a whopping 13 points behind the League leaders Besiktas. A cause of concern for the team.
As part of the drive to improve the team in the ongoing January transfer window, the president Murat Kilic met with representative of Nigeria international forward Ademola Lookman, who is currently at the AFCON where Nigeria are through to the semi final.
Lookman who has three goals and two assists has a long running contract battle with Atalanta, and went on strike in the summer in his bid to force a move away to league rivals Inter Milan.
His contract which has less than 14 months to run makes him a sure candidate for a winter transfer or possibly in the summer, but Atalanta reportedly want over €40m.
Besiktas are hoping they will be able to afford him at a cut price, and also can give him terms that will be as competitive as elsewhere. They are pushing to get the deal done now rather than wait till the summer where he could possibly have other tempting options.
