Kylian Mbappe reaches France milestone with his goals against Senegal tonight.

He's now scored 58 goals in just 99 games for France. And his goals also puts him on 14 in World Cups - just two behind Germany's Klose, who holds the record with 16.

After a barren first half, 2022 World Cup finalists, France stepped up the tempo in their opening game in New York against France with Michael Olise and Kylian Mbappe the tormentors in chief.

Olise looked like he was close to ending the deadlock in the 50th minute but Édouard Mendy clinical save rescued Senegal.

Moments later, a penalty appeal after Senegal legend, Sadio Mane supposedly fouled Mbappe but VAR ruled otherwise in favour of the Teranga Lions.

But the pressure continued to mount and a one-on-one between Olise and Mbappe saw the Real Madrid striker giving France the lead in the 66th minute.

Bradley Barcola scored Blues' second goal in the 81st minute to exert France revenge of the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup opening match 1-0 defeat to the Africans.

Senegal attempted a comeback with Mbaye's added time goal to make it 2-1 but Mbappe replied with a thunderous shot outside the penalty area for France's third goal and his 58th to become his country's highest scorer in history.
