Swedish club, AIK Football have confirmed that highly-rated Nigerian winger Zadok Abu Yohanna will not join the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 Unity Cup in London, reports www.sportsunlimited.ng.
The club revealed that the youngster is currently in the final stages of his rehabilitation process, and after careful consideration, they decided not to release him for international duty at this time.
AIK also emphasized Zadok’s importance to the team, stating that sporting reasons played a role in the decision as he remains a key player for the club.
Despite the setback, AIK expressed pride in Yohanna’s invitation to the Nigerian national team and voiced confidence that he will represent the Super Eagles in the near future.
The Unity Cup is scheduled to take place in London from May 26–30, 2026.
