With the 22nd National Sports Festival, 2024 Gateway Games coming to a blistering close, the inability of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) to rise up to its obligation of releasing a factual and accurate standing of the states may have been the minus in the organisation.

2024 Gateway Games:MOC still shortaging Team Edo
With the 22nd National Sports Festival, 2024 Gateway Games coming to a blistering close, the inability of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) to rise up to its obligation of releasing a factual and accurate standing of the states may have been the minus in the organisation. The host, Ogun State, tried with infrastructure upgrade except with few hitches, but the delivery by the MOC in presenting accurate medals table is causing confusion among the various technical officials of the different states. According to the medals table purportedly released by the MOC as At 6.30am today (29/05/25), Delta State is having unassailable lead followed by Bayelsa, Ogun and Rivers States with Team Edo ascribed with 55 gold, 87 silver and 93 bronze medals. But from the available record to sportsunlimited.ng, Team Edo has garnered a total of 252 medals comprising of 64 gold, 89 silver and 99 bronze medals as at 12am on May 28, 2025. Going by the medals table in circulation which place Team Edo in fifth position below host Ogun State, the Edo team officials have been reading clandestine meaning to the inconsistent medals table been churn out by the MOC.
