WAFU -B CAFWCLQ: Edo Queens thrash Burkina Faso's USFA 5-1 to book final spot

Reigning Champions of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL, Edo Queens FC on Wednesday thrashed USFA FC of Burkina Faso 5-1 in the semi-finals clash of the CAF Women's Champions League qualifying tournament in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Atume Doosuur opened scoring for the 2024 WAFU-B champions in the 17th minutes the match decided at the Stade 4AOUT Stadium in Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso.

Valentina Uroko struck in quick succession -43 and 45 minutes to increase the tally for the Benin girls.

On return from halftime break,Doshima Tarnum scored through a corner kick to compound the wors of the host team in a minute into the second half.

Aminat folorunshor wrapped up the game for Edo Queens in the 62nd minute to take the game out of reach for the Burkinabes.

The host team however got a consolation goal in the 91st minute to end the game 5-1.

Edo Queens secured their qualification to this semi-finals stage after recording a comprehensive 7-0 thrashing of AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic and 3-1 beating of Asec Mimosas in their first and second group B matches.

The Benin based team however fell to Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC of Ghana 2-1 on Sunday evening at the Stade Municipal 4AOUT Stadium in the last Group B game of the Qualifiers.

They are likely to meet Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC again in the final battle.
