It was a nervy match with lots of permutations but at the end the defending champions, Super Falcons scrapped through to the quarter finals.

All the teams, except Egypt grossed 6 points but Malawi and Nigeria are the two teams progressing.

The Super Falcons started brilliantly with

Asisat Oshoala calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 21st minute to give t Nigeria the lead before Gift Monday, who replaced injured Oshoala increased the tally in the 41st minute.

Egypt however reduced the deficit deep into first-half stoppage time as Nadin Yasser Ezzat Ghazy converted from the penalty spot in the 45+10th minute for the Super Falcons to take a one-goal advantage into the break.

Uchenna Kanu scored in the 57th minute, just one minute after replacing Folasade Ijamilusi, to put the Super Falcons firmly back in control.

Towards the end of the match, the Super Falcons scored twice from the spot while Joy Omewa got the sixth goal to end the game 6-2 advantage Nigeria.
