Ugwuoke resumes training after full recovery from surgery
Five months after undergoing a successful knee surgery, Rangers International midfielder, Ugochukwu Ugwuoke, is back in training.
Ugwuoke, a former assistant captain of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ who sustained the injury in a match day 8 league encounter against Remo Stars in Nnewi in the 2021/2022 season, was full of life at the Tuesday, March 5, 2024 training session under the watch of coach Fidelis Ilechukwu.
The lad said after the training session that he was very happy to be back, fit as a fiddle to challenge for a place in the squad to defend the badge of the club that stood behind him during his trying times.
“It is indeed a delighted moment for me to rejoin my teammates in training to challenge for a place in the team. I feel so happy to be back. It is not easy passing through all the processes of surgery and rehabilitation to come back to give my best to help the team challenge for honours again. I give God all the glory just as I salute the management of Rangers under Barrister Amobi Ezeaku for standing behind me all through the trying moments of my career,” stated the fleet-footed player.
Captain of the side, Chukwudi Nwaodu, said, “We celebrate the return of one of us, Ugochukwu Ugwuoke, from a career-threatening injury and back to training. It gladdens our hearts that he will come with his wealth of experience and skills to help the squad fight for the league and Federation Cup titles this season.”
Recall that Ugochukwu Ugwuoke went through the surgeon’s knife on October 4, 2023, to correct a nagging knee injury at a health facility in Enugu.
