Enugu Rangers win 9th NPFL title, equal Enyimba's record

Rangers International were crowned champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City in a dramatic final-day encounter in Lagos.

The Flying Antelopes finished the 2025/2026 campaign on 68 points, securing a record-equalling ninth league title to move level with Enyimba International as the joint-most successful club in NPFL history.

Despite winning 3-0 on the last day against El-Kanemi Warriors, Rivers could only finished on second position with a CAF Champions League participation as consolation.

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan are set to return to the continent after 27 years. The last time the Oluyole Warriors played in the continental stage was 1999 in the CAF Champions League.

They will play in the CAF Confederation Cup alongside Ikorodu City as they ended 3rd and 4th at the end of the season.

Already, three teams, El-Kanemi Warriors, Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists have been relegated to the second tier Nigeria National League (NNL).

The final whistle sparked celebrations among the travelling supporters as Rangers secured their second league title in three seasons under General Manager, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku and Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu.
