Team Nigeria delivered a historic performance at the Lefika International Relays in Gaborone, setting a new African Record of 41.44s in the mixed 4×100m and securing qualification for the World Relays Championship!
The record-breaking quartet, Chidera Ezeakor, Maria Thompson, James Taiwo Emmanuel, and Obi Jennifer Chukwuka, stormed to victory, announcing Nigeria’s dominance in the newly introduced event.
With this run, Nigeria not only claims the first-ever African Record in the mixed 4×100m, but also climbs to 12th on the World Relays qualification rankings.
