Minister, NFF technical c'ittee take different stands

The moves to appoint a new coach for the Super Eagles has taken a different dimension, with the Sports Minister and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee on opposing route.

www.sportsunlimited.ng gathered that the Sports Minister, Senator John Enoh met with members of the committee today and drummed it to them that the Federal Government was not ready to bail out the NFF in paying for a coach.

Although the minister didn't show objection to the hiring of a foreign coach, as proposed by the committee, the minister pointedly told the committee members that Federation would have to solely foot the bills of whoever is appointed as the new Super Eagles coach.

It would be recalled that the NFF technical committee has recommended the employment of a foreign coach but the minister at today's meeting advised that it would be financially advisable to go for a coach that the Federation can easily pay without unnecessary incurring debts.

In the name vein, Senator Enoh has urged the NFF to ensure the new coach is available in the next two weeks.
