Nigeria’s D’Tigress suffered their second heavy defeat in their World Cup warm-up campaign in Spain after losing 90-55 to Belgium.

The Nigerian side started brightly and competed well during the opening two quarters, but Belgium pulled away decisively after the break, dominating the third and fourth quarters to secure a comfortable victory.

The defeat follows D’Tigress’ loss to Spain in their opening warm-up game, meaning the African champions are still searching for their first win in their final build-up to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

D’Tigress will now turn their attention to Mali in their next warm-up fixture before rounding off their preparations against Puerto Rico.

The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will be held in Germany next month, with D’Tigress using the remaining fixtures to sharpen their game and build momentum ahead of the global tournament.
