Stability restored at Enyimba FC as Gov Otti announces reforms, new coach

In a decisive move to restore Enyimba to its former glory and salvage what remains of this season’s Nigeria Premier Football League campaign, where the club currently sits 14th on the log, Alex Otti (OFR), through his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, announced sweeping reforms aimed at stabilizing the club.

Represented by Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, the Governor unveiled Daniel Eke as the new Sporting Director of Enyimba FC, while Deutsch Gustave Emmanuel was also presented as the new Head Coach of the club. He further directed the immediate payment of all outstanding salaries, sign-on fees and other entitlements owed to players.

In his remarks, the Governor reassured stakeholders of his administration’s commitment, stating, “If we can clear 58 months of salaries and entitlements owed to Abia workers, trust us to clear Enyimba FC players outstanding payments immediately.”

As part of the restructuring, the club’s Accountant was relieved of his duties, with a new appointment to be made to strengthen financial transparency and accountability.

The Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, who was present at the event, assured concerned fans that the club has now become a major focus of the state government. He noted that necessary steps are being taken to restore proper administration and ensure consistent progress both off and on the field.

Also in attendance were the Vice Chairman of the club, Capt. Eric Asomugha, the Chairman of Abia Angels, players, stakeholders and supporters, who watched as Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu delivered the far-reaching announcements designed to bring stability, discipline and renewed ambition back to the People’s Elephant.
