The Ride for Autism which continues its final leg to Lagos today received a boost as the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun supported the Kanye Autism Foundation with a donation of N20 million for the Autism awareness campaign in the country.
The Governor who received the Ride For Autism team in his office in Abeokuta praised the parents of Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, autistic cycling champion, Mr. Tagbo Okeke and Dr.Silvia Tagbo-Okeke for using the cycling tour to create awareness for autism in order to encourage parents whose children are autistic to also look out for the special talent their children have and help them develop it like Kanyeyachukwu has done.
"I must say that I appreciate your visit today and because of Kanye and this team of cyclists, it has thrown a different perspective on these special needs children. What Kanye exemplifies has defied this condition, he has not allowed it to become something secretive, it brought out his strength which is being celebrated. We don't see him as an autistic child but as an artist to the point where he is a Guinness Book of records award winner," he stressed.
He commended the team for deeming it fit to stop over in Abeokuta to see him and promised to continue to support the campaign to create awareness for autism
