A 12-year-old enterprising midfielder at Super Accurate Football Academy of Ikotun, Lagos has sent out a passionate appeal for financial support from top administrators and philanthropists to help him in his ongoing battle against a cancerous tumour in his neck.

The youngster's appeal is contained in a widely circulated press release, in which his parents disclosed that a lot of money has been spent in their search for a solution to the problem that began early last year, and is getting worse by the day.

After taking David to two private hospitals as well as Igando General Hospital and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTECH), the kid was eventually referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for expert attention at their oncology department.

However, after spending so much at the other hospitals and with lots of assistance having already come from well-wishers, friends, colleagues and church members, the family has been left with a last option of seeking help from government authorities.

That last resort has now been set in motion as the youngster, who is currently a junior secondary one (JS1) student at Universal Comprehensive College, Ikotun and whose father is a sports journalist, has sent out a passionate personal appeal for financial support.

The young Fasetire, who has a vision to one day play for the country, specifically mentioned Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) as well as ex-internationals, philanthropists and corporate bodies in his appeal.

"I am begging them to please kindly help me and my dad. I want to play football for Nigeria and make the country proud, but this cancer attack has stopped me from training with my team," said the kid whose friends fondly call 'Vivid.'
