The Nigeria Police has summoned boxer, World Cruiserweight champion, Bash Ali to appear on Monday, February 6 at the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, FCID, Abuja over a petition filed by former Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare.
In a statement signed by DCP Olufemi Akinola, the former World Cruiserweight champion was invited for an interview with the Assistant Director Network Audit Analysis.
"The office is investigating a case of Cyberstalking and publication of false information in which your name featured prominently... Your cooperation in this regard is highly solicited, please," the statement reads.
The initial date for the interview was February 9, 2026 but was later pushed forward to Monday February 16, 2026.
In an interview with Sportsunlimited.ng, Ali promised to honor the invitation, saying "it a ridiculous petition, and you're most likely to agree with me when you see my argument and the facts."
