Otu dedicates June Monthly Mug triumph to sponsor

Otu Ekanem emerged winner of the June Monthly Mug competition at the Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo, and dedicated his latest triumph to the tournament's sponsor, Mr. Sediongde Udo, following Saturday's event.

An elated Ekanem praised Udo's generosity in sponsoring the competition despite being absent from the event.

«"I'm excited to return to winning ways in the Monthly Mug competition. I want to dedicate this victory to Mr. Sediongde Udo for his selflessness in sponsoring this competition in absentia," Ekanem said.»

Playing off handicap 9, Ekanem carded a gross score of 82 and finished with a net score of +1 to clinch the coveted Monthly Mug title.

A consistent performer at the Ibom Golf and Country Club, Ekanem described the victory as a confidence booster and expressed his determination to maintain his impressive form in future competitions.

A total of 52 golfers competed in the June 2026 Monthly Mug tournament, which attracted some of the club's top players in Uyo.
