NSC boss, Dikko, pledges support for Awoniyi on planned investment in sports 

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Malam Shehu Dikko has pledged to support Super Eagles star, Taiwo Awoniyi on his planned investment in Nigerian sports.

Malam Dikko gave the assurance when the Nottingham Forest striker paid a visit, in company of former Bundesliga star, Anthony Anthony Ujah, at the commission's headquarters in Abuja.

During the visit, Awoniyi presented the Chairman with an official Nottingham Forest jersey and discussions were held on the progress of Nigerian football, athlete development, and the opportunities available to support the next generation of sports talents. 

Awoniyi informed the NSC chairman of his proposed developmental projects/investment towards the advancement of Nigerian sports.

In his response, the NSC chairman not only salute the patriotic courage of the Super Eagles striker but pledged the support of the commision to provide all the enablers for the success of the projects. 

The meeting forms part of the Commission’s ongoing engagement with Nigerian athletes competing at the highest levels across the world, as the NSC continues to strengthen collaboration aimed at advancing sports development in the country.
