Nigeria victory over Egypt, represents fighting spirit of the super Eagles..... NIS DG/CEO

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Comrade Philip Shaibu has congratulated the Super Eagles on clinching the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

‎Philip Shaibu who was at the Mohammad V stadium in Casablanca to cheer the team, described the medal as the Golden Bronze saying it represents the fighting spirit of renewed hope and zeed of how Nigerians can bounce back from disappointment.

‎

While commending the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the technical crew and the players, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State advised that the Coach Eric Chelle should be retained for stability and continuity in the performance of the squad.

‎

‎Shaibu concluded by admonishing that preparation for 2027 Afcon to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and the World Cup should commence immediately in order to guarantee a better outing.

‎

‎3-time champions Nigeria defeated record 7-time winners, Egypt 4-2 via penalty shootout after regulation time ended in a goalless draw to claim a 9th bronze medal at the continental showpiece.
