Nigeria female cricket receives accolades despite loss to Zimbabwe

The Nigeria female Cricket team, Female Yellow Greens lost by 5 wickets to Zimbabwe in the second semifinal match at the 13th African Games in Accra Ghana.

Many cricket followers praised the Nigerian girls for making it to the semi-finals spot although the least-ranked of the 8 teams.

Among the list of those who applaud Nigeria's efforts are the Captain of Zimbabwe, Mary-Anne Musonda, Tawanda Eli, and ICC Africa Development Manager, Mrs. Patricia Kambarami.

Nigeria batted first scoring a poor total of 74 runs for a loss of 9 wickets(74/9). Salome Sunday and Piety Lucky scored the best runs of 10 and 13 respectively.

The 2nd best-ranked team Zimbabwe chased and scored 75 runs and lost 5 wickets in 16 overs.

Nigeria will play Uganda female for the bronze medal on Wednesday morning.
