Wilfred Ndidi, Super Eagles midfielder and captain, made an emotional return to the starting XI for Beşiktaş, finding the net in the 9th minute against Göztepe.

The match marked his first appearance since traveling to Nigeria to lay his father to rest, and the goal was his second of the season in the Süper Lig.
