LG boss empowers community through football fiesta

In a renewed attempt to promote and empower soccer competition at grassroot level through sports especially round leather game of football between streets, clubs, age grade and wards within various Local Government in the states began before now.

The Ikorodu/West Local Development Council (LCDA), Chairman Honourable Suliamon Kazeem Olanrewaju is set to bankroll Ikpakojo Allstars Annual Football Fiesta S.K.O Cup 2024.

Ipakodo Allstars Football Association berthed in the year 1989 and have continually to promote championship cup till date under a different age-grade, clubs, streets, wards versus soccer tournament.

This year football fiesta will feature team Baresi, Team Refe and Team Iniesta on a grand Finale billed for December 29, 2024 at Local Government Primary school Ipakodo, Outskirt of Ikorodu, Lagos State at 11am.

Interestingly, clubs name were derived from football legends across Europe.

In a statement credited to the Chief host Hon. S.K. Olanrewaju, the incumbent Executive Chairman Ikorodu-West L.C.D.A stated that football festival is set apart to promote unity among the youth in the community and constituency.

It is also to discover buddy talents, stars, harness and showcase for a competitive event in a community, Local and foreign club sides of their choice for contractual piece.

In a related development, Hon (Barr) Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive chairman of Kosofe Local Government has concluded plan to organise all wards soccer competition.

It is 2nd edition chairman’s cup for Kosofe Local council. In a statement from the organizer / co-ordinator desk of the competition, Hon Babunmi Ayoola (Ositelu), the SSA on sports Kosofe Local Government Stated that, this year competition is organised to feature all wards under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) to trade tackles between each ward leading to grand finale slated for December 21, 2024 at Emmanuel Primary School, Ojota Lagos.
