Lagos govt didn't give us N15m - Peter Rufai brother ... Admits NFF gave N3m for burial
Contrary to reports that the Lagos State government, through a former Nigeria international, Waheed Akanni, donated the sum of N15 million towards the burial of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, his brother, Bruce Sunny has dispelled such insinuation. The Spain based Bruce, while receiving the Pillar of Sports, Chief Agu Ejidike on Saturday at the family house in Lagos, said apart from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the family hasn't received anything from the Lagos State government. "Please let me correct some misinformation going around that the Lagos State government gave the family N15 million to assist in the burial of my late brother, Peter Rufai. As of now, nobody from the Lagos State government has approached the family with the money and I challenge them to come forward with the receipt and the account the money was paid into. "Apart from Dr Peter Obi and the Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, nobody has given us any money," Bruce said. He however expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Football Federation for the assistance, saying that the football federation stood solidly behind the family in giving the goalkeeping legend a befitting burial.
