Golf enthusiasts and their families flocked to Akwa Ibom State on Saturday as the Ibom Golf and Country Club marked the conclusion of the 2025 season with an All White Golf Tournament.

Club Captain, Mr. Isua Archibong, expressed his gratitude to God for a remarkable year and commended golfers for upholding the All White tradition for over a decade. The club captain revealed plans to leverage golf-driven tourism to generate revenue for Akwa Ibom State in 2026 and beyond.

"We give God the glory for a wonderful day; we cannot but thank God for a wonderful year. This event is highly anticipated by everyone, and from January to November, every golfer eagerly awaits the All White event. It's always a remarkable day in the club's calendar.

"I'm delighted we're here, and our families will soon join us as we celebrate our remarkable achievements in 2025. As you can see, the prizes are here; we'll have a presentation of prizes, appreciate our partners, and everyone who has been part of the golfing community in all the tournaments, kitties, and monthly mugs. Today is the high point of everything. It's our end-of-year tournament; it's our end-of-year party."

In retrospect, Captain Archibong was delighted that golf in Akwa Ibom State has transitioned from trophies to tourism. The golfing community has grown from less than 50 active players to approximately 160 active players.

"We are now aligning with the arise agenda of His Excellency by making Akwa Ibom the tourism capital of West Africa. Golf is one of the vehicles we will use to drive tourism. We want to make Ibom Golf and Country Club a destination in Africa," Captain Isua Archibong stated.

Top prize winners included Godwin Etim as the Overall Winner, while Ubong Ubiam and Mike Jaja won in different male categories. Barr. Uwem Ekamem won in the veterans' category, and Kiki Roland emerged as the winner in the female category.

Ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, participated in the All White tradition, while Emem Eduok, ex-U20, Esperance, and Konyaspor player, served as the Chairman of the 2025 All White Planning Committee.
