Godwin Izilein begins final journey home
Foremost Nigeria Women football coach and ex- Super Falcons manager, late Pa Godwin Ihijegbe Izilein, has begun his final journey to home.
According to burial arrangement released by his family, there will be vigil mass service for him at The Holy Spirit Catholic Church Okhoro
Benin-City this evening while the body will lying -In- state at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin, after which a valendictary football match will be played for him as a mark of honour by ex- footballers and coaches tomorrow, Friday April 19. Thereafter his body will be laid to rest at his resident in Benin.
Pa Izilein was a man of honour, jolly good fellow worthy of emulation. He served his fatherland with his whole heart, he exhibited good traits and was highly respected for
his contributions to the growth of football in Nigeria.
Despite working tirelessly for his county, late coach Izilein was betrayed by those he trusted so much. Till now NFF is indebted to him.
He was one time former head coach of Bendel Insurance, Edo Queens, and consultant to Edo State government on football.
He was also a member of the Nigeria team that played against Santos of Brazil at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Pa Godwin Ihijegbe Izilein will be remembered for his good works on earth.
Benin-City is already bobbling with activities as friends across the World are already in Benin City for the burial ceremony.
