Boniface's dip in form which has led to lack of playing time is leaving the club fans frustrated and they don't fail to express their frustration any time he's introduced.
In Saturday's 1-1 draw against FC Cologne, Boniface was welcomed by jeers and whistles on his introduction in the 70th minute.
Fans at the Weser Stadium voiced their frustration, with isolated whistles audible as Boniface appeared less engaged during the closing stages of the match.
On multiple occasions, he handled situations from a standing start, resulting in the loss of possession.
Werder Bremen coach Horst Steffen addressed questions regarding Boniface’s showing, keeping his comments brief.
“We don’t have to constantly evaluate individual players now,” Steffen said, as quoted by Deichstube, adding, “Maybe a goal will help him to become even stronger,” before concluding the discussion.
