Elegbeleye assures of continuous improvement in the league

The chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye has promised Nigeria league stakeholders and lovers that there will be continuous improvement in the Nigeria Premier League as he noted that there is no perfect system any where but a continuous work in progress to achieve international best practices.

The chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye has promised Nigeria league stakeholders and lovers that there will be continuous improvement in the Nigeria Premier League as he noted that there is no perfect system any where but a continuous work in progress to achieve international best practices.
Speaking after receiving the NPFL financial statement ending June 30, 2024 from it Auditors, he talked about the little achievement of the board in three years.
Hon Elegbeleye said the board moved the cash price for the winner of the NPFL from N100m the first year to N150m the second year and N200m for the winner of the 2024/2025 season.
"We have kept to our promise on the cash price for the league, with the partnership with GTI the referees have received their allowance directly which as helped improve the standard of officiating. We just received our Audited account for the last 18 months ending June 30, 2024 from our external Auditor."
He said the plans of the NPFL board is to build a system that will work on it own, according to him, "Educating stakeholders in all aspect of running a professional league team, part of it was the introduction of Vagency Consulting to explore the area of scouting," he added that more training in other section of football club management will be explored.
