Barely 24 hours to the emergence of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) new Premiership Champion, the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa will buzzle with anticipation as red-hot Edo Queens playing away to Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa on Sunday, May 26 in an atmosphere that is already charged up and full of uncertainty in the last game of the NWFL Super Six tournament currently ongoing in Bayelsa State.

The NWFL Super six is played yearly at the end of the Premiership regular season to determine who becomes champion at the end of season.
Six NWFL teams qualified for the Super six, three from each group.
Confluence Queens, Heartland Queens and Nasarawa Amazons qualified from group A, while Bayelsa, Queens, Edo Queens and Rivers Angels picked the ticket from group B.

These six teams are currently in Bayelsa State fighting for honours. But presently Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels are the three major teams in top contention.

Three matches will be played tomorrow being the last day of the competition. And for the city based ladies, history is in the making that will changed the fortune of Edo Queens and cast their name in the Guinness book of records.

Edo Queens, who currently sit top on the log with 9 points from four matches will be on parade against Bayelsa Queens who are on 8 points from the same number of games.

Kickoff time for this epic clash is 12:noon at the main bow of the Samson Siasia Yenagoa.

Both matches will go on simultanuosly, the last match of the day will be between Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons who will also be playing for pride at the Samson Siasia Stadium kickoff time is 2 pm.

For Edo Queens, they are battle ready, and their experience will go along way in helping the Moses- Aduku tutored ladies achieve the desired aim tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Edo State Sports Commission Chairman Yussuf Alli (Olympian), has showered encomiums on the players for their exceptional performance this far.

In a telephone call to the entire team, he urged the team not to lose focus of their dreams, adding that the Executive Governor, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki, his wife, Dr. Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and the entire people of Edo State are praying for them. He charged the girls to go all out tomorrow and do the State proud.

"In fact I must tell you that the governor and the entire people of Edo State are proud of you, and also praying for you to have a good day tomorrow. It is 90 minutes game, not different from all other matches that you have played. All that you should be thinking about now is how to win, that should be paramount in your minds. For you to become champions, you must be ready to fight like champions. Edo Queens no doubt is the best women team in Nigeria, so I want you all to double your efforts tomorrow, see yourselves as potential league champions and play like champions".

"From the current position, most opponents dread Edo Queens because they know that you have all it takes to be crown champions of the NWFL. So we are looking forward to seeing Edo Queens lift the trophy. And I wish you all success and an injury free game. I'm happy with you all, please and make us proud."

In another development, Edo Queens sensational dribbler, Goodness Osigwe said that Edo Queens is not scared of anything team. So he stated this while commenting on tomorrow's cracker against Bayelsa Queens.

"For me, I am not scared of anything We are here for battle and we must fight to the last. I don't care who our opponent is for tomorrow's game, we are ready to play We know why we are here, our focus is the trophy and I know that we are set and battle ready to fight."

"Personally, I want to score more goals, because I'm also in contention for the highest goal scorer. I don't want this opportunity to pass me bye. Edo State government has done so much for us, it is our turn to win this Super six. We have worked so hard for it and I do know that God will not put us to shame."
