...As Gov Diri allegedly pushing Siasia for U-23 national team job
By Mike Ndidi,
There's an uneasy calm in the Flying Eagles camp after the recent intrigues and power play that plunged the team's camp in Abuja into disarray.
www.sportsunlimited.ng. gathered that the reason for the disquiet in the team that just resumed camping on Sunday in Abuja, was aftermath of a directive from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), through the team secretary that he has reshuffled the team backroom staffs.
Infuriated by the decision, one of the dropped U- 20 team officials, who was with the team during the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Championship in Chile, was said to have called the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, to complain about his removal from the U-20 National team despite being owed backlog of allowances and bonuses since 2022.
Senator Jibrin who's also the owner and financier of Nigeria Premier League side, Barau FC, Kano was said to have intervened on the matter.
www.sportsunlimited.ng gathered that the feud has been settled and the NFF has recinded its earlier decision to reshuffle the backroom staffs while the affected backroom staffs have been reinstatef to the team.
Meanwhile, in another development, Bayelsa Governor, Douye Dire who's a close ally to the President of Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Ibrahim Musa Gusau, is said to be pushing for coach Samson Siasia for the vacant U -23 Job.
